GreenTeaTokyo is a fully mobile tea ceremony service based in Tokyo. We come to your office, hotel, or venue — bringing everything needed for an authentic, hands-on matcha experience.

Instruction is available in English. No tatami room, no special setup, no parking needed. Just tables, chairs, and your team.

How It Works

STEP 1: Get in Touch

Share your approximate headcount, date, and venue. We’ll send a quote — even if the details aren’t finalized yet.

STEP 2: Confirm the Details

We confirm the schedule, final headcount, and any add-ons (English instruction, calligraphy, etc.).

STEP 3: We Set Up

Our instructor arrives 30 minutes early and sets up at your venue. No action needed from your side.

STEP 4: The Experience (60–90 min)

Introduction → Sweets → Everyone whisks their own matcha

STEP 5: We Clean Up

We handle all cleanup and pack up everything. Your venue is left exactly as we found it.

The total cost is made up of two parts: a base service fee and a per-person fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do participants need to speak Japanese?

No. With the English instruction add-on (+¥13,000), the entire session is conducted in English. We’ve run many sessions for fully international groups.

Do we need a special room or Japanese-style space?

No tatami or Japanese-style room needed. A regular conference room or event space works perfectly. Tables and chairs are all we need from your side.

Do you need parking or a loading bay?

No. Our instructor travels by train with all equipment in one carry-on suitcase. No vehicle access or loading bay is needed.

How much space do you need?

We need one table for the instructor (approx. 100cm × 70cm). Participants each need standard seating — a regular meeting room setup works fine.

Is kneeling required?

No. Everyone sits in chairs at a table. No prior experience or physical flexibility required.

How long does the session take?

A standard session is 60–90 minutes. Shorter formats (around 30–45 minutes) are available for tight event schedules — please let us know your timing and we can adjust.

Can participants take photos?

Yes, photos are very welcome. Many participants enjoy photographing the whisking process and their finished bowl of matcha.

Are there any dietary considerations?

The Japanese sweets (wagashi) we provide vary by season and availability. If you have participants with specific dietary requirements (gluten-free, vegan, nut allergies, etc.), please let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate.

Does matcha contain caffeine?

Yes, matcha contains caffeine — roughly similar to a cup of green tea. If any participants have concerns, feel free to mention it when you get in touch.

What is the minimum / maximum group size?

We can accommodate groups from a few people up to large corporate events. One instructor handles up to approximately 20 participants comfortably. For larger groups, we bring additional instructors. Please enquire with your headcount and we’ll advise.

Can you issue a formal invoice for corporate billing?

Yes. We issue quotations, invoices, and receipts in English or Japanese. We are registered as a qualified invoice issuer in Japan (No. T2013301051519).
