While many tea experiences only involve watching a tea ceremony,our service allows participants to actually make their own tea.

At GreenTeaTokyo, the instructor will provide all tea utensils, matcha, sweets, etc., so there is nothing for you to prepare.

I can’t call a professional but would like to entertain with a matcha experience!

You want your guests to experience matcha, but you can’t invite a professional for your own reasons! For those who are unable to invite a professional, we offer tea utensils for rent.

Since it is not possible to have your guests experience matcha by themselves, renting tea utensils is a great way to provide a different experience for your guests.
Also, most tea ceremony classes do not allow large groups of people to experience the tea ceremony at the same time, so this is a great option if you have to entertain more than 10 people at the same time.

We also offer a group discount.

What do I need to make matcha tea? How big is the tea bowl?
GreenTeaTokyo offers tea utensil rentals for complete beginners, so there is no need to research or hesitate.

We will provide you with a basic tea bowl and Chasen, a resume of how to make tea, a Matcha sifting can, a Chashaku, and everything you need to make Matcha.
(*The tea bowls and Chasen are for the number of people, and the Matcha sifting can, Chashaku and resume are for a part of the set. Sweets are not included.)

You can rent the set for 5 days from your arrival, so you can practice in advance.

If you have any questions or concerns about how to prepare the tea, the instructor will be happy to travel to your location and give direct instruction to one representative only.

When you receive the item, please check the condition of the item before using it. (e.g., if the teacups are broken or missing)

Some items are easily damaged by the way they are handled, so please be sure to read the enclosed materials before using the items.

You may use the box and cushioning materials as they are when you return the product.

【Return Process】

Please rinse the tea whisk lightly with water and wipe the tea bowl dry and wrap it in cushioning material before returning it.

The return will be completed as soon as the items are returned, so there is no need to contact us.

In case of trouble

We will not charge any compensation fees for damage that is not the fault of the customer.

*If the damage is intentional, the customer will be charged 3,000 yen per set.
If the item is not returned, we will charge 5,000 yen per set.

Q.When do I have to return the items by?
A.The return procedure is completed when the box is handed over to the delivery company by 24:00 on the 5th day after the arrival of the product and the shipment is completed.

A.What is a Chasen?
Q.It is a tool used to prepare Matcha (powdered green tea). You cannot make matcha without a chasen, so you will need one for each person in your party.

Q.What is a matcha sifting can?
A. Before you prepare Matcha, you need to sift the tea once to prevent lumps from forming. Please sift the matcha once with a matcha sifting can before serving.

Q. What is a chashaku?
A. A chashaku is used to scoop matcha. You can also use a teaspoon or other utensil in place of a chashaku, so there is no need to use a chashaku.

Q. Does it come with sweets?
A. We apologize, but due to expiration dates and other issues, we ask that you bring your own snacks.

Q. Can you teach me how to make tea?
A. If you are unable to learn how to do it even after reading the materials and would like us to teach you directly, we can teach you directly to one representative at a cost of 12,000 yen per trip.
