MICE events such as international conferences, corporate events and incentive trips are a great opportunity to offer overseas guests an authentic Japanese experience.
GreenTeaTokyo travels to hotels and event venues to provide Japanese culture experiences, starting with matcha.
This article explains the benefits of adding a Japanese culture experience to your MICE event, and shares our track record at MICE and corporate events in Tokyo.
What Is MICE?
MICE is an acronym for Meetings, Incentive travel, Conventions, and Exhibitions / Events, and refers to a broad range of business events.
Tokyo welcomes a growing number of international guests, and demand for authentic Japanese experiences is growing with it.
Benefits of Adding a Japanese Culture Experience to MICE
- Gives international guests a genuine feel for Japan
- Sparks conversation among participants
- Easy to include in receptions and booth areas
- Can be run as a short program
Why Matcha Is a Popular Choice for MICE Events
Our matcha experience is not just a demonstration to watch.
After a short explanation from our instructor, each guest whisks their own matcha and enjoys it with a Japanese sweet.
The goal is not to teach the way of tea, but to let guests enjoy their first encounter with Japanese culture.
No prior experience is needed.

Hotels, Conference Venues, Event Spaces and Large Groups
GreenTeaTokyo has no fixed tea room. We travel to hotels, conference venues and event spaces.
Rather than saying “we cannot do it without a tea room,” we shape the experience around your venue.
We can also run it in venues with ordinary tables and chairs.
Our instructor brings all the matcha, Japanese sweets and tea utensils.
For details on our on-site service, please see our on-site tea ceremony page.
Formats for MICE Events
We can adapt the format to your purpose, venue and schedule.
| Format | Example |
|---|---|
| Booth | Guests drop in at the event venue |
| Session | Groups of about 20 to 30 guests |
| Reception | Content for networking events |
| Hotel event | For hotel guests and VIPs |
| Incentive trip | Programs for overseas corporate groups visiting Japan |
The standard program is the matcha experience only.
Calligraphy or origami can be added on request.

English Support and Large Groups
For events with many international guests, we place English-speaking staff as needed.
For large groups, multiple staff members run the session, and we divide guests into groups to keep the flow smooth.
We will discuss the best setup for your group size and schedule in advance.
