Children’s Day 2026 Hotel Activities | Matcha, Calligraphy & Origami Experience
May 5th is Children’s Day — one of Japan’s most beloved national holidays.
During Golden Week, hotels welcome many families with children.
Why not offer something truly special this year?
GreenTeaTokyo brings matcha, calligraphy, and origami workshops directly to your hotel.
Our instructors arrive with all equipment — minimal preparation required on your end.
Three Cultural Programs for Children’s Day
Matcha Tea Experience
After a short introduction by our instructor, each guest whisks their own bowl of matcha from scratch.
Served with traditional Japanese sweets, this is one of the most popular experiences among international guests and their families.
Calligraphy Experience
Guests practice first on Japanese paper, then write their final piece on a decorative card to take home.
We prepare personalized templates in advance — guests can choose a kanji, their name, or any word they’d like to write.
※ Calligraphy accommodates up to 5 guests at a time.
For larger groups, we rotate between matcha and calligraphy sessions seamlessly.
Origami Experience
Guests fold traditional Japanese paper crafts — including the kabuto (samurai helmet), a symbol of Children’s Day.
All paper and materials are provided by our instructor.
Suitable for children and adults alike.
Flexible Setup for Any Hotel Venue
We can set up in your lobby, banquet room, restaurant, or any available space.
Our workshops work well as a special Golden Week program, a welcome activity at check-in, or a curated add-on for family stays.
English-speaking staff available — ideal for international guests.
Pricing
Our rates are all-inclusive: instructor fees, travel, matcha, and Japanese sweets.
We provide a clear quote based on your group size and selected programs.
