① Why In-Hotel Cultural Experiences Are in Demand

Most international visitors to Japan arrive hoping to experience the culture first-hand — not just observe it. Tea ceremony, origami, and similar traditions are high on many guests’ wish lists. But for business travellers and VIP guests on tight schedules, leaving the hotel to visit a cultural venue is rarely practical.

An in-hotel experience solves that problem entirely. The instructor comes to your guests — making it easy to offer something genuinely memorable without disrupting their itinerary.

  • No need to leave the hotel
  • Available from 30 minutes
  • English-speaking staff can be arranged
  • No preparation needed from hotel staff — all equipment is brought by the instructor

🍵 Tea Ceremony (Matcha Experience)

Participants learn the basics of Japanese tea ceremony and whisk their own bowl of matcha — with Japanese sweets served alongside. The instructor explains the background and etiquette before guiding everyone through the hands-on experience.

  • Duration: from 30 minutes (varies with group size)
  • Matcha, Japanese sweets, and all utensils provided by the instructor
  • English-language instruction available via English-speaking staff add-on
  • No tatami room required — any room with tables and chairs works

🦢 Origami

Participants fold paper cranes and other traditional shapes under the instructor’s guidance. Origami crosses language barriers easily, making it a reliable choice for mixed international groups.

  • Duration: from 30 minutes (varies with group size)
  • All paper and materials provided by the instructor
  • English-language instruction available via English-speaking staff add-on
  • Finished pieces can be taken home
  • Other shapes (helmet, shuriken, flowers, etc.) available on request

🎋 Combined Package

Tea ceremony and origami can be combined into a single session — participants enjoy matcha and sweets before or after the paper folding, for a fuller Japanese cultural experience. Typical duration: 60 to 90 minutes.
